When Andrew Pratt came to the Maryland Small Business
Development Center (SBDC), he had a passion for gaming, technology, and
entrepreneurship. With guidance from Maryland SBDC Senior Business Consultant
Ryan Del Gallo, Andrew transformed that vision into Ripstop Games LLC, a
Maryland technology company serving the video game industry.
After researching the market and refining his business model, Andrew
strategically pivoted from developing his own game to creating the Ripstop
Games SDK—a white-label software solution that helps video game developers
implement User-Generated Content (UGC) into their games.
Ripstop Games' value proposition is: "Ripstop Games builds synergistic
relationships between video game companies and their players by implementing
support for User-Generated Content (UGC)."
With support from the Maryland SBDC in business planning, market research,
financial planning, business formation, and building a professional advisory
team, Andrew officially launched Ripstop Games LLC and positioned the company
for future growth.
Andrew reflects: "Last spring, starting my own business felt like an impossible dream. Thanks to the generous, ongoing support I have received from Ryan and the Maryland SBDC, that dream has become a reality in just a single year. I feel confident in my understanding of what it takes to create and grow my business in a manner that is both safe and efficient."
