My Happy Yoga Place Strengthens Its Business Foundation with Support from the Maryland Small Business Development Center
Charlotte Hall, MD — My Happy Yoga Place LLC, founded by certified yoga instructor Alaina Rodriguez, has taken meaningful steps toward structured growth with guidance from the Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Southern Region.
Alaina, who opened her studio to promote wellness and mindful movement in the Charlotte Hall community, sought assistance from SBDC to refine her marketing strategy and evaluate future expansion options. Working with Dr. Frank A. Clinton, Business Consultant at the College of Southern Maryland, she received tailored support for online and local promotion, along with access to specialized research on potential new studio locations.
To position the business for long-term success, the SBDC developed a detailed action plan outlining practical marketing strategies for social media, email outreach, partnerships, and community events. Recognizing the studio’s space limitations, Dr. Clinton coordinated a research request through the SBDC's statewide research team to compare nearby communities using demographic trends, competitor mapping, drive-time analysis, and local spending data.
The resulting suite of reports helped Alaina make informed decisions about possible expansion sites in Charlotte Hall, Prince Frederick, Huntingtown, and Mechanicsville.
“My Happy Yoga Place has put key operational pieces in place and now has the advantage of data-backed planning as it considers future growth,” said Dr. Clinton.
